        Pinot noir

      • Ageing

        Barrel-aged for 24 months

      • Volnay is one of the most fascinating appellations of the Côte de Beaune. The village is easily distinguished by its picturesque houses clustered around the vineyards (215 hectares) on the upper slopes of the hill. The identity of the wines is also unmistakable. Volnays are most often wines of spontaneous appeal and silky tannins. The famous Burgundy elegance is prominent. In addition, in the imagination of connoisseurs, one often speaks of Volnay as a feminine wine and Pommard (its neighbouring appellation) as masculine. To the nose its wines often present a bouquet of red fruits and violets. Their apparent lightness does not preclude the potential for ageing.
